Student Organization Allocations Committee

The Student Organization Allocations Committee (SOAC) is part of CUSG. It reviews funding requests and votes on how money is distributed to recognized student organizations (RSOs).Ìý

SOAC is led by the SOAC Chair and a board of student members.

To be eligible for funding, an RSO must be open to all CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß students.Ìý

Recognized Social Greek Organizations (RSGOs) or selective RSOs are eligible for event funding as defined below.

Types of Funding

SOAC will allocate funding for RSO expenses such as:

  • Operations:funding is to cover expenses related to the regular operations of an organization in order to carry out their mission or purpose. Resources should be used for organizational (not personal) purposes and be stored on campus (where possible).
  • Travel: funding is for an educational or competitive experience that is related to, or furthers, the mission of the organization. Travel is defined as outside of a 60-mile round trip and requiring an overnight stay. There must be an equitable process to determine who attends travel experiences and travelers must be a full fee-paying student at the time the travel will occur. This is limited to lodging, ground transportation, parking, airfare, and conference registration or competition fees. Per CUSG Student Fee Regulations, student fee funding cannot pay for food while in travel status.
  • Events: according to CUSG Student Fee Regulations, events shall be defined as an activity outside an organization's regular meetings, where others beyond regular membership are invited, that seek to showcase the activities of the organizations, bring awareness to or educate a broader CU audience about the mission or purpose of the organization, or provide entertainment, social, or networking opportunities for the CU Community.Ìý
