<p>Two things set the ������ý����'s <a href="http://www.colorado.edu/publicachievement/">Public Achievement</a> program apart from other service learning and civic engagement initiatives: mentorship and empowerment.</p>

<p>Students, scholars and media professionals will discuss media “in the fast-paced world of digital journalism” at a ������ý���� symposium March 14-15.</p>
<p><span id="">CU-������ý����’s <a href="http://journalism.colorado.edu/">Journalism and Mass Communication</a> program will host the conference including two talks that are free and open to the public.</span></p>

<p>DENVER – Five members of the University of Colorado community are recipients of the 2014 Thomas Jefferson Award, among the highest honors given at CU, the state’s flagship university. </p>

<p><span>The ������ý���� has pledged to double the number of CU-������ý���� students who participate in an international educational experience by 2020. </span><span>The commitment, which will be implemented by CU-������ý����’s </span><a href="http://studyabroad.colorado.edu/">Study Abroad Programs</a><span> office, is part of the Generation Study Abroad pledge launched today by the Institute of International Education (IIE). </span></p>

<p>The ������ý����’s Real Estate Council will hold its 17th annual forum Wednesday, March 5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Denver Marriott City Center.</p>

<p>Following on the heels of its nationally recognized anti-violence school tours based on “The Tempest” and “Twelfth Night,” the <a href="http://www.coloradoshakes.org/">Colorado Shakespeare Festival</a> has hit the road with a new production of “Much Ado About Nothing.”</p>

<p>A renowned Seoul-based artist will use steel ground into a fine, black powder to write calligraphic inscriptions on the floor of the CU-������ý���� Visual Arts Complex on Feb. 11, followed by a performance-art piece and a lecture by the artist.</p>
<p>This is one of several free events during the two-week residency of Kim Jongku at the ������ý���� Department of Art and Art History. Kim works in sculpture, video, painting and photography and will be in residency here Feb. 3 to Feb. 14.</p>

<p>The ������ý���� Campus Staff Council (BCSC) congratulates the 2013 Chancellor’s Employees of the Year: George “Barney” Ballinger, Martha Shernick, Larry Drees, Jennifer Law and David Kalahar. BCSC also thanks Colorado Athletics for acknowledging the award winners on the court at the CU women’s basketball game against University of California, Berkeley on Friday, Jan. 10. </p>
