The Office of Pre-Health Advising can help you on your path to a healthcare career with services including:Ìý

  • Individual pre-health advising for all students, regardless of major
  • Assistance exploring and identifying pre-health career options
  • Engagement in a community of pre-health peers
  • Group advising, workshops, and educational programs
  • Course selection for professional school
  • Comprehensive, tailored assistance with your future application to professional school

What to Expect

  • Runs 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
  • You can come and go anytime during those hours.
  • Exhibitors include health profession schools, internship organizations, and campus partners.
  • The format is open-house style. You can visit whichever tables interest you.
  • You can also collect Passport stamps for hourly prize drawings.

Extra Add-Ons

As part of this experience, you have some optional add-ons available:

  • Quick pre-health resume review (8-10 minutes) and mini advisor chats (10 minutes) will be available.
  • Sign-ups will happen on the day of the event at the check-in table.
  • These are first-come, first-served opportunities.

How to Prepare

  • Review the list of attending programs as we post them.
  • Choose 7-10 tables you don’t want to miss.
  • Optional: Bring a resume and questions about admissions, prerequisites, or funding.
  • Dress code: Smart casual
  • Backpacks and student attire are also totally fine!

If you're in high school, considering a career in healthcare, there are things you can do right now to help you prepare.

Volunteer in a healthcare setting

Gain experience in healthcare settings to learn moe about your interest in the field and whether it is the right fit for you.

Shadow a healthcare professional

What better way to learn more about healthcare than to see it in action! Shadow your local physician, pharmacist, or dentist to see first-hand what it is like to practice in that profession.

Take challenging coursework

Healthcare fields require many courses, especially in science. College courses are advanced and sometimes, taking challenging coursework in high school can set you up for success in college as they provide you with ample space to practice your time management, note-taking, and study skills.

Become a leader in your community

Begin to build your identity as a leader and engage in ways that can help and/or serve others, especially those who are in need.

Yes! This event is totally free for students! PLUS, free lunch!

Nope! You can come and go as you need between 11:00am and 4:00pm.

This option is only available to students on the day of. You can sign up at the check in table. Be sure to get to the event as soon as you can if you want one of these special advising sessions!
