Please fill out the top two required sections as thoroughly as possible before moving on to specific opportunities.
You will fill out the application for one, two, or three areas of interest. You do not have to apply for any more than one position, but you do have the option to present your answers for two other positions in case you do not get your first choice. It is highly encouraged to apply to at least two, if not three positions.
Use the drop-downs to indicate which opportunity is your first, second, and third choice. The questions for each position will appear when you select the opportunity as a choice.

The purpose of the Fellowship in Leadership and Experiential Development (FLEXD) is to provide a thorough experiential learning course in leadership and career readiness. The project and development-based course employs the principles and models from the engineering design process and the experiential education theory to guide students through knowledge and skill development towards greater leader and professional competency and efficacy. Advisors use both project-based and applied skill-based learning opportunities to promote student professional and career growth complimentary to students' major and minor areas of study.Ìý
Fellowship ObjectivesÌý
The Presidents Leadership Class’ FLEXD fellowship allows students to undergo professional and leadership development while attaining and honing skills needed for career readiness. Additionally, FLEXers are highly encouraged to develop the skills to make positive change, or the PLC values: Courage, Wisdom, Opportunity, and Connection.
Learning Objectives
- Learning and working with the PLC Design Process to create enrichment opportunities for their PLC peers.
- Development of self-awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses in professional and leadership settings.
- Development of moral courage through critical discussions, feedback loops, taking risks through design.
- Improvement in communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving, strengthening initiative, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Contributing to the excellence of the Presidents Leadership Class by seeking and producing needed change to academic and/or co-curricular curricula.
- Create transformational experiences for PLC students through metacognitive reflection on past program iteration.
- Development of the skills needed to make positive change – courage, wisdom, opportunity, and connection.
