Booking Request
Users must select 鈥淩equest/Start a New Project鈥 through the to initiate a booking request.
If this is your first request, please email erik.hartwick@colorado.edu to set up the appropriate account type.
- Internal users must provide a speedtype number
- External users must provide an external account number
- External academic and federal users please see details below
Account numbers must be verified. The email request must include the PI or account manager associated with the account, copied on the message confirming permission to use the account.
After submission, BioKEM facility staff will:
- Review the request
- Create a project in PPMS
- Schedule the work
Most new projects include an approximately 30-minute consultation to discuss experimental goals and answer questions.

The following resources can be scheduled directly through PPMS:

- Glacios TEM
- Krios TEM

Remote Data Collection Access
BioKEM uses Splashtop Business to provide remote viewing during data collection setup and operation.
Full remote access is granted only to trained users. Facility staff may grant full or partial access depending on the user鈥檚 experience level and training.

Data Transfer
Users are encouraged to transfer data using:
- CU 抖阴传媒在线 PetaLibrary
- AWS
- Globus
Use of external hard drives is discouraged unless absolutely necessary.

Sample Screening
Sample screening is typically performed on the Glacios TEM.
Samples should be pre-screened before requesting time on the Krios TEM unless prior arrangements have been made with facility staff.
For cryoET or microED projects, please contact the Facility Director directly to schedule the work.

External Academic and Federal Users
External accounts can be generated for facility training and use. New users should email the Facility Director to obtain a customer ID and sequence number.
The Facility Director will request a Customer ID and Sequence Number from CU Finance.

The customer must provide:
- Organization name
- Customer contact name
- Phone number
- Physical address
- Billing address

External Industry Customers
BioKEM welcomes industry training and facility use. External users must complete several administrative steps before work can begin.
The Facility Director will help coordinate these steps.

Step 1 鈥 Customer Account Setup
The Facility Director will request a Customer ID and Sequence Number from CU Finance.

- Company name
- Customer contact name
- Phone number
- Physical address
- Billing address

Step 2 鈥 Service Agreement
If the standard PPMS service agreement is not sufficient, a separate service agreement must be completed.

- Physical address
- Billing address
- Phone number
- Technical point of contact name
- Technical contact email
- Technical contact phone number
The completed form will be submitted by the Facility Director to:

Step 3 鈥 NDA / CDA (If Required)
If a Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) or Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required, please use the following submission forms:
