CU Recharge is a pilot program sponsored by Employee Health and Well-Being that is designed specifically for faculty and staff. It brings the benefits of strength training and physical activity into the workday through short, supportive microworkouts that fit easily into your schedule.Ìý

No changing clothes.ÌýNo long workouts. Less than 10 minutes, close to the office, with meaningful benefits for your body and mind.

Grand Opening

Join us for the grand openingÌýof theÌýCU Recharge ProgramÌýon Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the third floor of the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE). All faculty and staff are invited to stop by to see the space, learn how it works, and experience how small movement breaks can make a big impact on your day. Participation includes an initial onboarding session with a training specialist from EGYM or CU Rec Services trainer, after which faculty and staff can use the machines whenever it fits into their work schedule.Ìý

What is a micro-workout?

A microworkout is a short, focused workout that can be completed during the workday. They are designed to maximize the benefits of physical activity and strength training in a fraction of the time. Even small amounts of movement, done consistently, can make a meaningful difference on your physical and mental health and wellness.Ìý

How do I get started?

Participation in the Recharge Program begins with a 30 to 45-minute group onboarding session, where you will:

  • Set up your user account
  • Learn how to use the equipment safely and comfortably
  • Receive guidance from a CU Rec Center trainer or experienced Recharge user
  • Ask questions and build confidence before starting

Once onboarded, faculty and staff can access Recharge independently and incorporate physical activity into their work day as it works best for them. If have any questions, please email workwell@colorado.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions

CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß faculty and staff must complete a 30 to 45-minute onboarding session led by a CU Rec Center trainer or experienced Recharge user. Once onboarded, faculty and staff can access Recharge independently and incorporate physical activity into their work day as it works best for them.Ìý. Please note additional onboarding sessions will be released a week ahead of time.

CU Recharge is a personalized workout, using EGYM smart strength machines, that everyone from beginners to experts can use to help reach your fitness goals. During your onboarding with an EGYM trainer, you will set your fitness goals, get set up on all the equipment, and receive your EGYM fitness band. After the orientation, all you will need to do is tap your fitness band on the machine and the rest is done for you. The machine will set your weight and range of motion for you and guide you through your reps to maximize your workout.Ìý

The EGYM circuit includes one biometric hub and five smart strength machines:

  • Leg Extension
  • Leg Curl
  • Seated Row
  • Chest Press
  • Torso Rotator

Together, these machines create a quick full-body workout.

Yes, the equipment is free to use for all faculty and staff once they have completed an onboarding.

Please wipe the touchpoints when you are done using the equipment. More than one person is able to use the circuit at a time since each machine takes only 1-2 minutes to complete.

Recreation Services has membership options for faculty and staff, including the Sunrise Pass thatÌýprovides access to both Rec Centers from 6 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
