The various Museum departments hire for a variety of interesting and compelling student hourly positions throughout the year. These positions offer students real-life, hands-on museum experience. Graduate Student Public Program Assistant

Position: Graduate Student Public Program Assistant
Hourly Pay Rate: $30

Position Summary:

The Graduate Student Collections Assistant supports the identification, organization, and development of adult educational programming at the CU Museum of Natural History. This position provides hands-on experience in museum engagement and programming while supporting day-to-day museum educational activities.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Complete assessment of existing adult programs
  • Assist with identifying programs from recent graduate Museum Education submissions.
  • Database programs and assist with calendaring offerings for AY 26-27
  • Support visitor services staff, and engage with graduate students on educational programs
  • Assist curators, collections managers, and public section staff with educational tours, presentations, and outreach
  • Engage with visitor services staff to ensure best practices in visitor engagement

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as a graduate student in the Museum & Field Studies Certificate or graduate program
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and follow protocols
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in museum educational work

Preferred Qualifications:Ìý

  • Completion of coursework in Museum Education
  • Prior experience working in adult education
  • Knowledge of best practices for inclusive visitor engagement

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • 15 – 20 hours per week, flexible
  • Compensation: $30/hour
