Heather Kennedy is a consumer marketing specialist with more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy, product development, and integrated marketing communications. Her career spans leadership roles in both global consumer packaged goods companies and mission-driven organizations within the natural and organic food industry. Previously, Heather served as a Brand Manager at Kraft Foods, where she led strategy development, advertising, financial management, consumer research, and new product commercialization for a variety of brands. She later joined Whole Foods Market as Senior Director of National Marketing, where she developed the strategy, processes, and internal team responsible for all national campaigns. Most recently, Heather was the lead Brand and Marketing Strategist for the Fresh Ideas Group in ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß, Colorado, advising companies focused on natural and organic food and consumer products. She continues to consult within the industry, bringing current, real-world insights into her teaching. At the Leeds School of Business, Heather teaches graduate and undergraduate marketing courses. She also serves as Faculty Director for the Badami Office of Experiential Learning. Heather has received multiple teaching awards, including the MBA Teaching Excellence Award (2021), the CESR Graduate Faculty Award (2022), and the Gillespie Family Entrepreneurship Teaching Award (2025).
Teaching
Heather teaches marketing to graduate and undergraduate students at Leeds. She teaches Marketing Strategy, Marketing Management, Advertising and Promotions, New Product Development, and Innovation.
