Lisa Williams (Mktg'86)

L Williams

Vice President of Worldwide In-Home Creative Services at Walt Disney Studios

After graduating from the business school I worked as an account coordinator in an advertising agency in Southern California. In fact, it was the same ad agency I'd interned at the prevVious summer. I now live north of Los Angeles and work at The Walt Disney Studios as Vice President, Worldwide In-Home Creative Services. I'm a creative marketing executive leading a team that develops global advertising campaigns for Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars films on Blu-ray and myriad digital platforms

What have you been involved with since graduation?

Well, I've certainly attended a lot of Leeds pregame tailgate events! In the past three years I've been an executive mentor in the Leeds' Professional Mentorship Program, plus I have spoken on multiple alumni panels and entertainment industry web forums. This past spring I hosted the Los Angeles career trek students here at the Studio, and this summer I hosted a Leeds young alumni BBQ at my home.

Throughout your career, what is one piece of advice or best practice that has stuck with you?

Be persistent and don't take no for an answer if you truly believe in something. Be curious and engaged in the world, stay true to your word and to your values.

Which Disney character would you be and why?

Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She's brave and adventurous, plus I love the water (I'm a scuba diver).

Why Leeds?

I earned a great education at Leeds. Leeds encouraged me to push myself hard to compete and really prepared me to work in a dynamic business world. ÌýI love that Leeds is ever-evolving and fully committed to supporting their students as they prepare to not only work, but lead, in a global marketplace. I'm really proud to be a Leeds alumna!
