Commencement Reflections

The kind of impact I hope to make early in my career is using what I’ve learned in both the classroom and my current role to use data to uncover insights that drive more efficient, informed decision-making for brands, even if it starts small.

Looking back, I didn’t expect that figuring things out as I go would become one of my strengths. I used to prefer following a plan, but it has shaped how I approach challenges by leaning on collaboration and working through them alongside others.

A turning point for me in college happened when I decided to transfer to ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß and fully commit to it. It taught me that you are not stuck in one path and can always pivot, and it changed my perspective to focus on applying what I have learned and continuing to move forward.Ìý

College opened my eyes to how important it is to build your community and be an active member in it. For me, that meant forming relationships with my professors and classmates, and joining the club swim team in my first semester at ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß. Supporting others, celebrating their success, and showing up for something bigger than myself made my college experience more meaningful, and now it is something I aim to prioritize in my life.

One aspect of the Leeds experience that made a real difference for me was learning from professors with industry experience, because it allowed me to directly apply what I learned in the classroom to my role and allowed me to feel confident and prepared for new experiences.
