New cancer therapy clings to tumors, with inspiration from gecko toes
CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Today—CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß scientists have taken a cue from geckos to develop a material able to stick to tumors inside the body, pumping out chemotherapy drugs for days. The technology, developed with doctors at CU Anschutz, is described in the journal Advanced Materials.
Point Designs to be acquired by Hanger
Nine years ago, a group of researchers from the CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering launched a pioneering medical device startup Point Designs to commercialize prosthetic technology. Today, those same researchers are announcing the company has entered an agreement of impending acquisition with Hanger, Inc.
Infleqtion selected to power the UK’s largest quantum computing breakthrough
BusinessWire—Infleqtion, a CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß spinout and global leader in quantum information technologies, announced a second grant from the UK government to further accelerate the performance of its neutral atom quantum computing platform, Sqale. The project aims to increase gate execution rate by 10–100x, a major advance in the scalability and capability of quantum hardware, critical for making quantum systems commercially viable.
Solving the dilemma of space dust: LASP researchers win prestigious NASA prize for dust mitigation instrument
LASP—Space Dust Research & Technologies, a CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß startup co-founded by LASP researchers Xu Wang and Mihaly Horanyi, has been awarded one of ten NASA TechLeap Prizes in the Space Technology Payload Challenge for their Electron Beam Dust Mitigation (EBDM) system. It was selected from a record-breaking field of more than 200 applicants to receive up to $500,000 and the opportunity to launch on a test flight next summer.
U.S. Energy Department selects Kian Lopez of OsmoPure for West Gate Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) selected 27 innovators and entrepreneurs to join the latest cohorts in its Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP). Kian Lopez of CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß startup OsmoPure Technologies will join the West Gate Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
