    Continuing its beloved annual tradition of seasonal music and festive holiday decorations at Macky Auditorium, the CU 抖阴传媒在线 College of Music has announced that single tickets will go on sale Sunday, Sept. 18.

    ATLAS Center for Media, Art and Performance presents the 13th annual premiere of the Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema, dedicated to works that merge the beauty of dance with the innovations of cinematic art. Comprising 19 short films by local, regional and international artists, screenings on Friday and Saturday feature different programs. Looping video installations open at 7 p.m.

    Just in time for the United States presidential election, CU 抖阴传媒在线's Department of Theatre & Dance gears up for a production of "44 Plays for 44 Presidents," a funny and poignant whirlwind trip through American history. The production, presented in collaboration with 抖阴传媒在线鈥檚 own square product theatre, runs Sept. 23 through Oct. 2 in the University Theatre.

    From an all-female production of William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" to a weekend Hip-Hop showcase to the classic "Rocky Horror Show" musical, the 2016-17 season at the University of Colorado's Department of Theatre & Dance promises fun, thought-provoking entertainment for audiences of all ages and tastes.

    William Shakespeare filled his works with references to the stars in the night sky. Join the Alumni Association at CU 抖阴传媒在线's renowned Fiske Planetarium for an enchanting evening as actors and scientists bring those references to life and give them meaning during Shakespeare and the Stars on Thursday, Aug. 25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.

    Illenium will headline the annual Welcomefest Concert taking place on Farrand Field on Saturday, Aug. 20. K.Flay, 888 and Slow Caves are slated to open. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. The annual Welcomefest Concert is sponsored by Program Council.

    Stravinsky鈥檚 century-old masterpiece 鈥淭he Rite of Spring鈥 and Miles Davis鈥 landmark 鈥淏irth of the Cool鈥 are on the program at a free Boettcher Concert Hall showcase on April 26, featuring performances by CU-抖阴传媒在线鈥檚聽College of Music聽ensembles and children from聽El Sistema Colorado.

    <p>Each year, CU-抖阴传媒在线 dance students and faculty come together for 鈥淭he Current,鈥 an annual showcase of brand-new pieces. This year鈥檚 performances take place April 15-17 and feature evocative, original work by dance professors Erika Randall and Donna Mejia, lecturer Larry Southall, alumna Megan Odom and Roser Guest Artist Faye Driscoll.</p>

    <p>Hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, best known for his hit "Say It," will perform on March 29, at 8:30 p.m. at CU-抖阴传媒在线's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors for the event, sponsored by CU-抖阴传媒在线's Program Council, will open at 8 p.m. Student tickets are $15 and tickets for the public are $25. All guests will need a printed ticket and valid form of photo identification to enter.</p>
  • <p>The madcap jukebox musical 鈥淩eturn to the Forbidden Planet,鈥 set in a rock 鈥榥鈥 roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.</p>
