This four-day course will teach you the basics of scuba diving and prepare you to become SSI certified, a lifetime certification that allows you to comfortably and safely explore the other 70% of our planet! You will need to bring a swimsuit, T-shirt, socks for the pool, paper and a pen. Diving equipment is provided.Ìý

Orientation: Saturday, June 13, 10-11:30 a.m.Ìý
We will hold an orientation session for students in all course sections. SCUBA instructors will give an orientation to the SCUBA course, answer any questions and conduct the required swim test (200 yards). All SCUBA students will have to successfully complete a swim test either at orientation or on the first date of your course.

Requirements:
  • Must be a Rec Center member
  • Basic swimming skills required
  • Medical history form required
  • If you have epilepsy or asthma, a physician’s note is needed to participate

Classes will meet at the Outdoor Pursuits classroom to start each day.

  • Registration deadline: June 15 at 12 p.m. (both offerings)
