HOP Bus Route Expands to Serve ��ý�� Junction – Starting Sept. 2, 2025 Nancy Portner Fri, 08/15/2025 - 21:12

CU ��ý�� students, faculty, and staff will benefit from expanded HOP service as the ��ý�� Junction Depot Square Station reopens. The updated route strengthens local transit connections and supports sustainable travel options.

New HOP Service Areas

Pearl Parkway (30th → Junction Place)
Junction Place/32nd Street (Pearl Parkway → Walnut)
Walnut Street (32nd → 30th)

Same Schedule, More Access

HOP still runs every 15 minutes during peak hours
Connects CU ��ý��, University Hill, downtown, and 29th Street Mall

Sustainable Transit Goals

��ý�� is adding 7 battery electric buses this fall
Goal: fully electrified HOP fleet by 2030

This expansion supports ��ý�� Junction’s Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), making it easier to live, work, and travel sustainably.

RTD Bus Service Changes Benefiting CU ��ý�� – Effective August 31 Nancy Portner Fri, 08/15/2025 - 20:24

RTD has announced several service updates that will positively impact CU ��ý�� students, faculty, and staff. These changes, effective August 31, 2025, include expanded service and improved connections to key destinations:

��ý�� Junction at Depot Square Station Reopens
RTD is reinstating service to ��ý�� Junction, bringing back key routes that connect ��ý�� to Denver and the airport.

AB2 – ��ý�� to Denver International Airport

Weekday AB2 trips will now depart from ��ý�� Junction Depot Square Station instead of Downtown ��ý�� Station.
Saturday service between Downtown ��ý�� and DIA will operate as AB3 to reduce confusion.

FF2 – ��ý�� to Downtown Denver Express

New trips added:
- Eastbound: 3 morning peak (7:00–8:30 a.m.), 2 afternoon peak (4:00–5:30 p.m.)
- Westbound: 2 morning peak, 3 afternoon peak

FF4 – ��ý�� Junction to Civic Center Station

Service reinstated with 8 peak-hour trips in each direction:
- Morning: 7:00–8:30 a.m.
- Afternoon: 4:00–5:30 p.m.
Supports the reopening of ��ý�� Junction and RTD’s System Optimization Plan.

FF5 – ��ý�� to Anschutz Medical Campus

Westbound afternoon/evening trips rerouted to avoid I-270 congestion. New route uses I-70 to I-25, then US 36.

Free BCycle memberships for CU Employees

Starting August 1, 2025, all CU employees are eligible for a free ��ý�� BCycle CU student and employee membership, thanks to a partnership between CU ��ý��'s Environmental Center and BCycle. Previously, employees received a discounted rate.

This membership gives you unlimited 60-minute rides - perfect for getting around campus or between CU locations. Just download the ��ý�� BCycle app and use your identikey@colorado.edu email address when registering.

Bike sharing is a convenient, eco-friendly way to connect to public transit, run errands, or simply enjoy ��ý�� - no need to worry about parking, locks, or maintenance. CU employee and student participation is expected to help push annual BCycle rides past 750,000!

Benefits of ��ý�� BCycle

A bike when you need one - you get unlimited 60 minute rides each day. Pick up a bike at any ��ý�� BCycle station and drop it off at a station near your destination
No need to buy a bike - with bike docking stations all across the city, it’s super convenient and easy to access a bike when and where you need one!
Connecting to public transit is a breeze - ride to a nearby ��ý�� BCycle dock and hop on the bus - no need to lug your bike on/off those bus racks
Not a mechanic? Not a problem - ��ý�� BCycle handles all the bike fleet maintenance so you don’t have to worry about flats, chains or tune ups
Safety-approved - all bikes have bright front/rear lights and a built in lock on every bike
No spandex necessary - ��ý�� BCycle bikes have a step-through frame and a comfortable seat, so you don’t have to bring a change of clothes to ride these bikes. Chain guards, fenders and mudflaps and a large front handlebar basket on all the ��ý�� BCycle bikes keep your work/school clothes squeaky clean

CU Students and Employees: Free Membership

Thanks to the Environmental Center and their partnership with BCycle, CU students and employees get unlimited trips for 12 months as long as they are under 60 minutes; trip fees apply to all BCycle trips over one hour.

Sign up using the ��ý�� BCycle app:

Download the ��ý�� BCycle app to set up your account.
Click on the "Get a Pass" button.
Select the “CU ��ý�� Student and Employee” option.
Click on the blue "create account" button. Be sure you use your identikey@colorado.edu email address when registering (this is not your first.last@colorado.edu email address).
You can use the app to check out and return bikes at any ��ý�� BCycle station

Colorado CarShare is going electric! There is a Colorado CarShare vehicle now available in parking lot 204 (corner of 18th and Euclid, just south of the CASE building). The new vehicle joins existing EVs at C4C and Williams Village. Make sure to sign up with your colorado.edu email and use the promo code CUECENTER for students and CU25CREDIT for staff to earn driving credit. Learn how to sign up and save on the Colorado CarShare Students and University website.

Guardian is a mobile safey application produced by Rave Mobile Safety. Guardian provides the user:

A new method to receive CU ��ý�� Alerts
Access to crisis support phone numbers
A safety timer allowing friends and family to monitor the user and call for help as needed
Access to safety resource websites
Quick access to call CU ��ý�� Police in non-emergency situations

Guardian is available at the App Store or Google Play. Simply search for “Rave Guardian” and download the app to your mobile device. Then follow the instructions to complete the setup.
