Passing Through is a mixed-media visual poem set to Mary Oliver’s poem, Wild Geese. The project explores impermanence through moments of movement, stillness, and connection to the natural world. Combining cinematic landscapes with intimate everyday videos, the film focuses on the experience of being in between. Being aware of the present while it is already passing. Mixed-media elements are layered over live-action images to evoke memory and emotional, genuine, handmade texture. The pacing and structure are guided by Oliver’s voice, allowing the visuals to respond to the rhythm and tone of the poem, rather than a traditional narrative. Passing Through reflects on the shared experience of moving through life without full certainty, and considers how fleeting moments can still feel deeply grounding.
