New Students

There’s a lot to learn and keep track of as your student begins their CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß journey. Use these resources to help them stay on top of all of the tasks they will need to complete.

Supporting Your Student

While your student is becoming a more independent person, they may still reach out for help from time to time. Here are some tips for helping your student succeed:

  • Act as a mentor: listen, support and guide.
  • Encourage your student.ÌýSuggest they talk to theirÌýadvisor about study skills, time management, academic exploration and attending faculty office hours.
  • Be an active and reflective listener.ÌýÌýAsk open-ended questions that offerÌýopportunities for your student to have more meaningful and thought-provoking conversations.
  • Allow your student to make their own decisions.ÌýYour student should be autonomously solving problems and taking control of their own academic career, social life and campus involvement.
