- The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. This year, College of Music faculty and students won four of these prestigious grants:
- The Glenn Miller Archive at the ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß American Music Research Center has acquired one of the world’s most significant collections of Big Band Era recordings and memorabilia.
The Ed Burke Collection – named for its shepherd and founder – contains approximately 1,400 reel-to-reel tapes containing hundreds of hours of live radio programs featuring virtually every musician of major importance during the Big Band Era. - The Music Library Association (MLA) has elected CU-¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Music Library Faculty
Director Laurie J. Sampsel as one of its three new Board of Directors Members-at-Large. - During the holidays, no matter how you celebrate or what your beliefs, music is almost always an important part of the celebration, according to Thomas Riis, a musicologist and director of the American Music Research Center in the University of Colorado at ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß’s College of Music.
