To receive the MA degree, students who do notÌýwrite a thesis must pass a four-hour written comprehensive examination covering subject areas corresponding to the five required MA courses: phonetics, phonology, morphology/syntax, semantics/pragmatics and diachronic linguistics.Ìý
ÌýAll information on this form will be shared with the student and filed in the student's department records.Ìý
In cases where the committee requests additional evidence of the student's understanding of specific subject areas, the committee will submit a "second round" feedback form.Ìý
