Pat Maguire is the Electronics and Fabrication Engineer at Idea Forge. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß and has built his career supporting hands-on engineering education and helping students turn ideas into working prototypes.

Pat began his career as an electrician in the Boston area, developing a strong foundation in electrical systems, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving. He later moved to Colorado to pursue an engineering degree while gaining industry experience in sensor manufacturing, specializing in the design and production of speed and direction sensing systems. This work provided extensive experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and applied electronics.

Since joining the Idea Forge in 2015, Pat has supported a wide range of student projects across disciplines, with expertise in electronics design, circuit troubleshooting, rapid prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing. He manages the electronics laboratory and 3D printing facilities, working directly with students to develop, build, and refine prototypes from concept to completion.

Outside of the Idea Forge, Pat is a musician at heart and enjoys playing, writing, and discovering new music. He also loves spending time outdoors and taking road trips to explore new places. He brings the same curiosity and hands-on energy to his personal interests that he brings to working with students and is always happy to help troubleshoot projects or talk through ideas in the lab.
