Clara Smith, PhD serves as the Principle Training and Development Specialist for Organization & Employee Development, where she designs and implements employee development initiatives that operationalize the university’s commitment to maximizing equitable experiences. A Forever Buff, Clara holds a PhD in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity, with dissertation research focused on the underrepresentation of bilingual students in gifted education.

Clara brings experience across teaching, research, and leadership roles at CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß, including work as a facilitator supporting sustainable change in undergraduate education, as well as service as a research assistant, postdoctoral scholar, and current adjunct faculty member in the School of Education. She was the founding manager and lead of the ASSETT Student Fellows Program in the Office of Information Technology and previously served as a graduate research assistant and academic coordinator for the McNeill Academic Program, a multicultural learning community.

A Staff Council representative since 2020 and a member of the CUPD Community Oversight Review Board, Clara is committed to advocacy, shared governance, and inclusive institutional practices. Beyond her university role, she also serves as a board member for Medicine Horse, a nonprofit organization focused on healing and growth through equine‑assisted services. She approaches her work with an empathetic, systems‑focused lens and a strong commitment to fostering positive work environments through inclusive, equity‑centered practices that reflect and support the needs of CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß’s diverse staff community.
