TIPS Class Schedule and SkillSoft Alcohol Service Policy Training

We look forward to working with you to ensure a fun and compliant year when serving alcohol at events. To help you prepare for your upcoming events, we offer TIPS server classes to university affiliates for $45. To learn more about these classes and the campus alcohol policy, visit our Events with Alcohol page, or contact the campus manager of alcohol services at 303-492-4558 or campusalcoholagent@colorado.edu.

Fall 2025 TIPS classes:

  • Sept. 9, 2025: 11 a.m.–2 p.m., University Memorial Center (UMC), room 415-417
  • Oct. 30, 2025: 11 a.m.–2 p.m., University Memorial Center (UMC), room 415-417

Please email the campus manager of alcohol services to sign up for a class. Please provide the following information in your email:

  • Date of attendance
  • Speedtype for materials

Space guarantees up to one week in advance of class. Requests beyond that date will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Materials and instructor facilitation fees will apply.

Please note: a department speedtype is required for registration. In the event you are unable to attend a training for which you are registered, please contact the campus manager of alcohol services at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows may result in materials and instructor fees.

Events with Alcohol
If you are planning to serve alcohol at your events, it is recommended you complete the Alcohol Service Policy Training in SkillSoft. This module should be used to inform and support the Alcohol Service Policy. CU's Campus Manager of Alcohol Service is located in the CU Events Planning & Catering office in UMC 140.

For large university departments (more than 20 people) needing TIPS certification at the same time, or if a date listed above does not meet staff availability, please contact the campus manager of alcohol services at 303-492-4558 or campusalcoholagent@colorado.edu.
