ÌýÌýWhat This Means for Campus

As we implement these changes, you may find yourself connecting with a new point of contact within RFS.Ìý

ÌýÌýWe encourage you to bookmark the Locating Your Grant Accountant resource, which reflects the most up-to-date assignments.

Over the past several years, Research Financial Services (RFS) has strengthened and refined our overall operations. We have focused on increasing stability, expanding leadership capacity, and building a cohesive team across our functional areas, all to ensure the highest level of service and continuity for campus.

The Strategy

To continue building on this foundation, we have conducted a comprehensive review of some of our grant accounting portfolios. This was a strategic effort to ensure our workload distribution aligns with our long-standing sponsor-based model, supporting the long-term sustainability of our services across campus.Ìý

Key Objectives

  • Balanced Sponsor Alignment: We have realigned some of our existing sponsor-based portfolios to ensure an equitable workload across our team. This allows our accountants to maintain the agency-specific expertise required to provide consistent and reliable support to every department, regardless of award volume.
  • Building Operational Agility: By refining our portfolio groupings, we are better equipped to adapt to the evolving needs of campus research. This structure allows us to manage fluctuating demands and agency-wide changes more effectively.
  • Continuity of Expertise: Through intentional cross-training within our sponsor groups, we are ensuring that specialized knowledge is shared across the team. This "team-behind-the-person" approach means multiple staff members understand the nuances of your sponsors, helping to ensure a knowledgeable contact is available to assist you.Ìý
