The SPIKE Center for Sustainability EducationÌýhas been established to accelerate and elevate campus-wide sustainability education and learning efforts, aligning with program areas and guidelines of:

The SPIKE Center has energy and enthusiasm - paired with new capacity - to become a valuable global hub in service of sustainability education for the success of our CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß students, staff and faculty as well as partner institutions (universities, colleges, K12 schools), organizations and interested people across the state, country and world.

The SPIKE Center will succeed to the extent that its people, partners and collaborators work together as a coordinated team. We welcome you to meet us in the middle as we find productive spaces to advance sustainability education for our common futures.Ìý

Our Goals
The SPIKE Center for Sustainability Education is pursuing an ambitious vision to advance CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß’s position as a collaborative leader in sustainability education.Ìý
Ìý
Our goals include:
  1. Growing the offering of courses that include sustainability
  2. Increasing the credit hours consumed that are sustainability-related
  3. Expanding learning and professional opportunities involving sustainability for students, staff and faculty
  4. Integrating and expand sustainability education into the curriculum offerings across all of CU ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß’s departments and degree programs as well as certificates and microcredentials
  5. Elevating the campus’ baseline sustainability literacy
  6. Developing the university as a leader in sustainability education nationally and internationally
Our Vision

Call for Applications

SPIKE Faculty Affiliates

The SPIKE Center for Sustainability Education has an open call for SPIKE Faculty Affiliates (SFAs).ÌýWe welcome faculty involvement in SCSE as inaugural SPIKE Faculty Affiliates (SFA)s.ÌýÌý

SFAs will be kept informed of sustainability education-related events, activities and developments across campus. SFAs are teaching, research and tenure-track/tenured faculty actively and/or interested in teaching and developing pedagogy and/or student experiences related to sustainability.ÌýÌý

We encourage faculty all across campus to apply by completing the formÌý

Applications will be reviewed and voted upon by the SPIKE Leadership Team monthly. Applicants will be notified of approval or decline shortly thereafter.
